Four Weddings and a Funeral is an upcoming miniseries produced and written by Mindy Kaling and Matt Warburton. The chaotic miniseries is an adaption of the 1994 film that had the same name. The show will be released on Hulu on July 31, 2019. Richard Curtis, the original writer of the movie, will also be an executive producer of the miniseries.
The limited series will center around a group of friends. While all will go well with them, the end will become messy as their lives get tangled up in five major events: four weddings and well, a funeral.
The reason why the movie was such a big hit was that it had Hugh Grant in it. In a recent interview, Mindy Kaling claimed that she might have been the biggest fan of Curtis’ movie. Her love for the movie was the sole reason why she decided to create a different adaptation.
In the course of ten episodes, we will see love, chaos, and also a tragedy. Mindy stated that she had been approached by MGM for the creation of the series. At first, the actress was confused, but finally decided to go for the project because of her’ love for the world.’
Mindy also said that she focused on making the adaptation different than the source material. Those differences would only make the miniseries unique. The movie, according to Kaling, had a perfect cast and was extremely funny.
Mindy also opened up about the difficulties she faced during the shooting. The production had to be done in London and she had to move there with her baby which became extremely difficult.
The reason why the series would be better than the movie is that Mindy Kaling is the writer and producer, and well we all know how she never fails to make us laugh.
