On 1st November, Eduard Popadiuc, a 3-year-old fell from the building of the Bridge Court tower block in Harrow, in north-west London.
Eduard fell from the family home before staff from his nursery nearby hurried to his side and gave first aid.
The 3-year-old died two hours later in hospital after he had spent the day with his friends at Little Aisha Nursery celebrating his birthday.
Earlier that day, Eduard’s father, Alexandru, posted a photo of his little boy on Facebook and wrote ‘Happy birthday Daddy’s love!!’
Sorrowful, Alexandru said that ‘I do not want to cry anymore as I do it all day and all night. He is our angel now…”
“He was the greatest kid in this world. He had lots of strength and used to laugh all the time.”
Manager of Little Aisha Nursery, Mary Da Costa, has established up a GoFund Me page to raise funds to support the grieving family.
She states that “Edward was observing his 3rd birthday with us which is the very first birthday of Edward with us, On 1st November, Friday.”
“Edward left happy and smiling, but sadly, soon after he moved from the nursery to go home, he had a terrible accident and fell from the fourth floor.”
“Because of the closeness of the nursery to Edwards house, Little Aisha staff members gave first aid and tried to save Edward, but it is with a heavy heart that we tell you that he sadly passed.”
TheHaringey Council Chief Executive, Zina Etheridge, stated that an investigation had been launched.
The Metropolitan Police are handling the death as unexplained and advancing their inquiries.
Another GoFundMe has been set up for Eduard to help meet the funeral costs and transfer his body back to Romania.
It states that “On November 1st, 2019, Eduard Popadiuc, the son of Alexandru and Roxana Popadiuc, who was observing his third birthday, had a fatal accident falling from the 4th floor… Rest in peace, Eduard.”
