A 13-year-old Florida boy has been arrested for stabbing his loving grandmother to death. The boy was charged with second-degree murdered for allegedly fatally stabbing his grandmother.
People stated that officers responded at around 3:30 a.m to Gloria Davis’ St. Petersburg home and discovered the 56-year-old’s body along with two children, including the 13-year-old suspect. The boy has reportedly rejected the killing of Davis and a reason behind the killing remains unclear.
Authorities said Davis had many stab injuries. According to sources, the arrest reports stated that a 12-year-old heard the 13-year-old screaming and loud sounds coming from the kitchen area. The 13-year-old allegedly said to the younger child that he “did something wrong” and “not to call 911 and wait until the morning because he required time to think.”
Responding deputies reportedly discovered the boy covered in blood and various lacerations on his hands and red marks on his body.
According to sources, the police said that the boy has no records of disciplinary problems at his middle school or issues with law enforcement.
Bays’ friends stated that she was a “wonderful” grandmother who spent time with her grandchildren and “gives them anything they desired.”
The boy remains in Pinellas County detention center till December 16. The Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney’s Office is in the process of determining whether he will be charged as an adult or not. A source reported that he will be freed if he is not charged as an adult.
