An 18-year-old Florida woman is facing felony charges after police said that she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend with surgical scissors when he was hospitalized late last month.
The incident occurred on November 19 at a Pinellas County hospital. The 18-year-old Taniea D. Sherrod is charged with aggravated battery with a weapon after the incident. In the arrest reports the address of the incident is listed as 701 sixth st. S in St. Petersburg, which is exactly the address of Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
On the day of the incident, Sherrod’s boyfriend was in a hospital bed at about 10.30 p.m. Sherrod was with him and began to argue with her boyfriend for “suspected infidelity,” according to report.
Sherrod became “angry” when her boyfriend would not let her see his cell phone. She then the report states that She then “picked up a pair of surgical scissors that were in the hospital room and started stabbing the victim in the right thigh creating various puncture wounds,”
The report did not show why her boyfriend was in the hospital.
Sherrod was arrested on December 4 and charged into the Pinellas County jail on a criminal charge of aggravated domestic battery with a destructive weapon. She was being held Monday on a bail of $15,000. On her behalf, a written plea of not guilty has been given to the officials.
