Star Wars Movie And Television Show About The Knights Of The Old Republic Are Being Developed
According to reports, a Star Wars movie and a television show about the Knights of the Old Republic are being developed. Last December, Lucasfilm closed the iconic Skywalker saga of the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker franchise, but it’s not the latest Star Wars movie to appear on the big screen. While Disney is putting Star Wars movies on a brief self-imposed pause, they already have a trio of mysterious projects scheduled for release in December 2022, 2024 and 2026. The studio has revealed its next course of action, seemingly without a shortage of rumors about the future of Star Wars.
More recently, it was said, the next Star Wars film saga would be established during the days of the High Republic, some 400 years before Phantom Mains. The credibility given for that speculation was a significant drop in the Republican name in the Star Wars comic. Still, if you believe in the latest reports, Lucasfilm is looking much more in the past for his upcoming slate projects. And, this is an era that fans have been waiting to see on the screen for a long time.
According to Fengemwire, the movie and the television show Knights of the Old Republic are in development. By the sound of things, none of the fan’s favorite video games will adapt but will tell other stories set at that time (about 4,000 years before A New Hope). Screen Rent has contacted to comment and will update this location accordingly.
The Old Republic Has Been On Deck For Star Wars
For some time, it seems that the Old Republic has been on deck for Star Wars. Last April, the president of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, said that the study was working on some project set at that time, but that the details were not precise. It looked like David Benioff, and D.B. Weiss’s film trilogy will bring the Old Republic to a multiplex, but the series is no longer up to date.
However, it is not surprising that Lucasfilm is interested in this period. This is an area of the canon that is not addressed in the Disney era (except for some Darth Revan Sith Tropper Legion, such as the Easter Egg), which provides creatives with many untapped possibilities for a lot of stories. This may explain that, according to reports, Lucasfilm is watching a television series (most likely Disney) to complement the feature film, which allows them to explore the Old Republic in more detail and develop a Son narrative.
It is interesting that this report mentions only one of the films of Knights of the Old Republic, unlike a trilogy or series. In the past, Kennedy may have mentioned Lucasfilm beyond the traditional trilogy structure that more or less defines Star Wars movies at this point and directs the story of how things unfold.
The Old Republic is undoubtedly a good enough time to admit many of the movies and television seasons. Still, perhaps Lucasfilm feels that it is smarter to take one step at a time and see how the public responds to these first projects. How to give, instead of being committed to something. That doesn’t work with the role of Star Wars Celebration expected for this August. The studio will be ready to present its new Slate movie.
