Grandmother Killed By Son’s Ex-Girlfriend After Argument Over A Painting
A Kansas jury on Thursday saw Rachael Hilyard as blameworthy of killing her ex’s mom in 2017 and removing her head, KWCH revealed. The decision came a day after Hilyard affirmed that voices in her mind advised her to kill Micki Davis, 63, on April 9, 2017.
Police discovered Davis’ body in a carport in Wichita after her 9-year-old grandson fled the house and utilized his grandma’s telephone to call 911, telling dispatchers his grandma was being assaulted.
Hilyard, 38, affirmed that Davis and her grandson went to her home that day to gather things having a place with Davis’ child, who was in jail at the hour of the homicide and got into contention over an artwork. The dispute got physical and moved from the pantry into the carport, where Hilyard said she halted when Davis was on the floor not moving, KWCH said.
She affirmed that she didn’t verify whether Davis was breathing a direct result of the voices in her mind, and instead went outside to see where the grandson had gone. She discovered him inside Davis’ truck and was conversing with him when, she stated, the voices returned and advised her, “you don’t have a lot of time.” She affirmed that she came back to the carport, where Davis lay.
