THE PLOT:
Blue Period Anime is a story about Kiko and Tetsuo Higashida. The two meet after the eccentric artist invites her to stay at his apartment for a few days because he has no one else to take care of him. The two get to know each other and over the course of those few days, Kiko learns about Tetsuo’s past.
Tetsuo was a popular artist who became famous after his work went viral online. His sudden rise in fame led him to neglect his family life and at one point he even left them behind while on vacation with an unknown woman. The PLOT explores their daily interactions with each other, as well as how Kiko’s stay at Tetsuo’s apartment affects her life back home. The plot becomes more complicated when they have to confront an incident that happened between the two.
The story follows Tetsuo’s journey as he attempts to reconnect with his family and come to terms with what it means to be an artist in the age of social media, fame, and success. Kiko is a young girl who decides to take an art class from Tetsuo Higashida after they meet by chance.
This is a coming-of-age story about how Tetsuo has been living in the shadow of fame and success for so long that he’s forgotten what it means to be an artist, while Kiko learns from him both how to paint better, and more importantly, she gains some understanding on the meaning of art as well. The PLOT’s main theme is family and the emotional connection between two people.

The plot is being filmed by a small production company called East Productions. They are an independent film group that mainly focuses on animated movies and shows. The”Blue period” was made by a Japanese director, Yuki Yase and it is being produced in the style of traditional anime.
