THE PLOT:

On September 11th, 2001, a group of planes was taken over by terrorists. One, he was sent to the town of Gander in Newfoundland where people from all around Canada came and helped take care of those who had been stranded by airport closures across North America. The plot follows the town of Gander as they welcome travelers from all over when their airport is closed after the attacks on September 11.
A series of mishaps and misunderstandings ensue, but gradually everyone learns to appreciate these unexpected guests just for who they are. The plot follows these locals as they keep their guests calm while waiting for transportation.
Narrated by some of the locals who were first responders, this story is personal and has plot twists that keep you hooked. One plot point in the movie is how some of these stranded passengers have to stay with unrelated strangers as their homes are filled and places to sleep scarce. THE STARRING CAST:
You may recognize some cast members such as Tony-award winner Donna Lynn Champlin (Rent) and Broadway star Jenn Colella (Wicked). Come From Away also features Canadian talent such as Hannah Levinson.
Lead roles have not been cast yet. The ensemble includes Jenn Colella (Heidi), Lee MacDougall (Patty), Q. Smith (Emily/Nurse Brenda), and Rodney Hicks.
PRODUCTION:
The production has not been released yet, but it is rumored to have a budget of $15 million and will be filmed in Toronto and Newfoundland.
