Daniel Craig, who starred in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, has denied rumors that he would appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as a cameo. The movie, which examined the universe and the idea of “incursions,” was released as a part of the MCU’s Phase 4 and starred Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, and Rachel McAdams. Craig has been mentioned in connection with the MCU in the past, particularly with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, although he hasn’t yet appeared. Craig was questioned about whether or not the reports that he would be a part of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness were real. After rumors surfaced that he might be cast as Balder the Brave, the brother of Thor, Craig responded honestly, denying that he had ever been engaged with the project. A member of the Illuminati named Balder the Brave was supposed to appear in the movie, but preparations were scrapped when Marvel couldn’t find a suitable candidate for the position.

What Marvel character could be played by Daniel Craig?

With Craig’s acting skills, he could readily fill a variety of roles. He was capable of portraying the legendary Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. According to reports, COVID issues prevented him from taking the part; Krasinski ended up winning it. Given the latter’s unfavorable reviews, a Fantastic Four starring Craig might significantly increase interest in the movie. He also excels in the character of an action hero, making him a natural choice to play Union Jack or Captain Britain. However, he is best recognized for his time as James Bond. Both superheroes resemble Captain America and would highlight Craig’s stature as a British legend, which is undoubtedly related to his fame as Bond.

Future of MCU with Daniel Craig

As we know, according to rumors, Daniel Craig was initially approached for the cameo role of Mister Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness; however, the actor’s decision to decline this part may have opened the door for a far greater and larger role in the future MCU. John Krasinski, a well-liked fan choice for that role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was cast as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic. Krasinski was offered the cameo, but Daniel Craig, a longstanding James Bond actor, turned it down, it was revealed shortly after the movie’s debut.

This may be due to Marvel Studios’ desire to have Krasinski play Reed Richards full-time starting with the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. Marvel’s desire to distinguish between the MCU’s Mister Fantastic from Earth-616 and Earth-838 makes sense given this. Craig can return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future, although in a bigger, more significant role since it is known that he declined the part.

Another character for Daniel Craig in MCU

Perhaps there are still plans for Craig to make an appearance in the MCU as Balder the Brave or another figure. If the reports regarding his alleged appearance are accurate, that could be the reason he isn’t providing any information. Regardless, the actor is still very busy even though his tenure as James Bond came to an end last year. He is currently a part of the Knives Out franchise, which was launched by Netflix after it offered Rian Johnson and Craig hefty contracts to create two sequels for the streaming service. And there might be a lot more in the future.

In the Conclusion,

Daniel Craig is one of the most famous English actors, whose popularity comes from his movies in the “James Bond” franchise. At this point, he might be a very good choice to play certain Marvel characters. It’s not impossible that in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness he will play Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, or even more characters like Union Jack or Captain Britain. However, it’s also possible that Craig can return to the MCU after his performance on Glass onion.
