Fox is developing a new mousetrap to stop its competitors in the television industry. Fox has announced that they are developing a physical non-scripted format based on Hasbro’s classic board game Mouse Trap with eOne. It will be the latest competition series from Rob Wade’s unscripted division, which is behind series including Lego Masters and Mental Samurai.

“Mouse Trap:” What it is all about?

The mousetrap was originally created by George S. Parker in 1898, and it is a game that requires players to work together as a team or solo player to build the trap while trying not to get trapped themselves. The Mouse Trap board has a maze-like arrangement of doors, mazes, ramps, and levers designed so that one player can take their turn and then offer help to the next person while they eat lunch, watch TV, or do whatever it is that you want.

Along with mousetraps, there are a variety of other games designed for one player or two players in which each participant tries to outwit his/her opponent. Games like “Clue,” Monopoly,” and even chess make use of this design element.

The mousetrap has been revised over time so that now instead of risking injury by grabbing long metal springs with your hands (ouch!), all you need to do is just push down on levers or flip switches in order to activate traps — no more banging away at those pesky springs! And since mousetrap games are now largely child-friendly, mousetraps have evolved from their original design to be more user-friendly and safer for children.
