The Plot:
Gomorrah’s plot follows a number of characters including Don Pietro Savastano who has just been released from prison after years in jail for drug trafficking. He later gets betrayed by his right-hand man Genny when he tries to take over Naples with some outside help.
Ciro hasn’t changed too much and is still the same cold-blooded killer he once was. Don Pietro’s wife Imma has been supporting him while in prison but decides to plot against Genny since she feels betrayed by her son. The two plot together with some outside help from a character named Malammore who wants revenge on Ciro for killing his son years ago.

The plot revolves around the Savastano family who rules Naples with an iron fist. The plot is mostly told from Genny’s point of view and focuses on his rise to power in the syndicate. Pietro holds a lot of respect among criminals but does nothing when it comes to politics which attracts new people into the organization. His right-hand man Ciro Di Marzio kills Pietro and tries to protect his family until he gets arrested by police officer Genny who realizes that Ciro killed his boss in cold blood.

“The plot is not groundbreaking, the dialogue exchanges are sometimes a bit clumsy and it’s never been easy to reconcile with Pietro Sibilla’s transformation from dopey boy to a ruthless killer. But there was something in his performance that always made you care about him,” says La Repubblica.
Ratings :
The first four seasons have been met with positive reviews from critics, receiving a fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes of 80% for season one and 100% for seasons two to four. On IMDb, the show has received a rating of around seven out of ten stars from viewers.
