Emmy winner Kerry Washington has signed on to produce and star in Rockaway, Netflix’s film adaptation of the memoir by Diane Cardwell. The memoir centers on a Manhattan journalist who unexpectedly discovers the transcendent power of surfing while working on a routine assignment.
Subsequently, she finds herself running from the comfortable life she’s always known, towards a life of romance and self-discovery in eclectic Rockaway Beach. Nichelle Tramble Spellman is scripting the adaptation which is a co-production between Netflix and Warner Bros.

It’s set for release in 2022! A definite date hasn’t been announced yet though so it may not come out until 2021 or 2022 (depending). The film stars Kerry Washington as Diane and is adapted for the screen by Nichelle Tramble Spellman.
