The first season of the show was filmed in Prague, Czech Republic. The plot of season one takes place entirely throughout this city and focuses on Landry who becomes master-at-arms at the Knights Templar castle there.
The second plot is set primarily in Paris, France with some scenes taking place in locations such as Carcassonne and Rouen. Production for season three has already begun, so expect to see more plot twists and dark scenes in the near future.
As the plot will probably be similar to season two, revenue for this program should exceed $220 million USD as viewership numbers were incredibly high during the second plot of the show.
Awards and recognition:
Knightfall plot, cast, and production have been a huge success for season two. The show has received several nominations from high-profile award ceremonies such as the Critics’ Choice Television Awards, Golden Nymph Award at Monte Carlo TV Festival, or Gold Derby TV Awards. For its second season, it garnered four People’s Choice Award nominations in categories “Favorite Cable TV Drama”, “Favorite Actor in a New TV Series”, and “Favorite Actress in a New TV Series” for Tom Cullen and Alyssa Diaz.
Those that have seen Knightfall season, one or two will be familiar with Tom Cullen as Landry who is the main character of both seasons. Season one focuses on him being made master-at-arms at the Knights Templar castle in the city. In season two, he is forced to go on a quest with other characters for The Holy Grail and must fight against his own morals of being a devout Christian at this time.
The Starring Cast:
There are only a few cast members confirmed so far but some plot spoilers have been revealed which may or may not include Landry making an appearance again.
Replacing Tom Cullen as Master-at-arms who is Landry, we will see Simon Merrells take on the role of a Templar Knight and veteran Crusader Ser Hovard de Peyrer who was rescued from slavery by The Knights Templar and has now risen to become one of their most trusted knights. He leads with the strength of character and a steely sense of duty.
Knightfall season two ended with Landry’s plot to escape from the clutches of his Templar brothers and return home. As he was being held prisoner at a workshop in Paris, Landry managed to free himself but only after putting one of his captors out for good. Although it appeared as though he had succeeded in escaping before more Templars arrived, he was soon surrounded by the King’s guards.
Knightfall’s plot for season three will be driven by Landry’s plot to escape from prison and flee France with Lady Isabelle who is pregnant after their illicit relationship came to fruition in the last episode of Knightfall season two finale.
The second season of Knightfall has received mixed reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the second season holds a “Rotten” rating of 61%, based on twelve reviews with an average score of /103. The site’s consensus reads, “Knightfall season two adds more plot complications after last year’s stirring battle between Templar knights and oppressive rulers.”
