Netflix, on September 14, 2021, confirmed that Cynthia Erivo and Andy Serkis would be joining Elba in the cast. Erivo, who is known for her role as Celie in “The Color Purple,” will play a character. At the same time, Andy Serkis is well-known to have played Gollum in The Lord of Rings epic series.
