Megan Thee Stallion All Set To Cast In The Upcoming Marvel Series She-Hulk

Marvel Studios is looking to cast a new female lead for their upcoming She-Hulk movie. The studio is rumored to be in talks with rapper Megan Thee Stallion, better known as “She-Hulk” on social media. As one of the most influential and popular female hip hop artists of our time, she has garnered over 3 million followers on Instagram and 1 million subscribers on YouTube, but this casting would be her first major acting role.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to diversify its roster by adding more complex characters like Black Panther (2018)’s Wakanda Princess Shuri and Captain Marvel (2019)’s Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel alongside mainstays Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America.

Rumored about she hulk!

Megan Thee Stallion would be the first African-American woman to play a Marvel superhero on screen, which is long overdue considering how they have been progressing with their heroes’ diversity in recent years. If she does indeed land this role it will be groundbreaking for both her career and representation of black women on the silver screen.

The 2018 movie Black Panther featured Danai Gurira as Okoye, who was one of several female warriors protecting Wakanda from outside invaders alongside Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia (Black Widow) and Letitia Wright’s Shuri (Tony Stark). They were able to pull off these roles without any big stunt casting because all three are actresses – not just actors.

Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis has been rumored to play Angela Bassett’s role as Amanda Waller in the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel, and it would be great if Marvel could follow suit with casting Megan Thee Stallion in She-Hulk! Of course, this is not the first time Marvel has had a black actress portray one of its superheroes. In 2016 Tessa Thompson played Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok and will be reprising her role for Avengers: Endgame which comes out on April 26th. If Megan Thee Stallion does end up getting cast as She-Hulk, she would make history by becoming the very first African American female superhero to carry her own movie!

But that’s just it – she doesn’t need to play She-Hulk because there are so many other roles where casting an African American woman could also make a huge impact. For example, if Lupita Nyong’o were cast as Storm or Danai Gurira was cast as Dora Milaje, the significance would be of a whole other order.
