The National Treasure series, starring Nic Cage, has found a new cast member. Former Sons Of Anarchy star C.T. Yates will appear on the show’s third season as Chief Peter Tanner, the character that was originally played by Sean Astin in the first two seasons of the series. Tanner is a friend of Benjamin Franklin Gates’ and helps him and his father (played by Nicolas Cage) find treasure across all four seasons of National Treasure. The character is also a believer in the Holy Grail and he even helps his friend on his travels to find the Ark Of The Covenant.
I was wondering when they would find someone to replace Sean Astin since I’m sure he’ll want to be paid for all of those years of work. I was under the impression that they had paid him, but now I’m not so sure. Either way, this is a good move because it gives the show some new blood and a different perspective from past seasons.
