The She Said series is a lower-budget, more investigative take on other traditional news outlets. Originally begun as a two-person operation in April of this year, the series now relies on both volunteers and contributors to produce in-depth reports about current events that are often ignored by mainstream media. What did you like about this show?
We can say that this documentary has been wonderfully portrayed by its actors and directors. The cast has made us feel like we are living in their lives by showing us their emotions when they are following a case or waiting for news during these situations.
What was the main inspiration behind this series?
A male coworker told me about a story he had just written for another publication based on his experiences – about an employee who had been wrongly accused of theft. The employee, who worked at a high school, was fired only to be later found innocent by police.
What is the most intriguing thing about this series?
The most interesting aspect of this documentary is the idea that one can be tried and not convicted even though they are innocent. It happens because of a loophole in the system that allows this to happen. But unfortunately, it happens to many people who have been wrongly accused through no fault of their own. The only way to fix this problem is to make sure that it does not happen again by making sure that all cases are investigated thoroughly before anyone is charged with a crime.
