Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is about Sonic and his friends, Tails, and Knuckles, who are busy fighting Dr. Robotnik’s robots to save the animals of South Island. The plot follows the protagonist, an anthropomorphic hedgehog named Sonic who shares a strong resemblance to Sega’s mascot video game character of the same name. He has his girlfriend Amy Rose and sidekick Miles “Tails” Prower. Also, he must stop series antagonist Doctor Eggman as well as recruit other heroes from around the world. The plot follows Sonic and his friend, Tails who are attending the Emerald Hill Zone Music Festival. Eggman crashes it with his robots which traps everyone in a cage.

On Little Planet they are being chased by Doctor Robotnik who is trying to get a mysterious gem called Master Emerald which grants energy for all of Station Square’s machines as long as it remains in place.

In Rotten Tomatoes, it is at 60%. Also on Metacritic, they give Sonic The Hedgehog a 50/100 score whereas users give it a score of 60/100.

In the New York Times, they say that Sonic The Hedgehog is a “disaster.” In Variety magazine, it says that the film does not have any plot and maybe confusing if viewers do not play the video game. One reviewer says, “Sonic the Hedgehog is an improvement on its predecessor and is worth checking out.” Another one says, “This plot was just not meant for a movie adaption that has humans in it”. Yet another review states: “Overall, Sonic The Hedgehog plot is its strong point”.
