The Susie Searches series is an episodic, true crime podcast about Serial. Podcasts are a great method for listeners to investigate cases and develop their theories, but the truth is that to understand something fully- you have to work through it.

In this Susie Searches: Review of Show, we will be going over some of the best podcasts and shows currently available on several different topics including murder, abduction, disappearance, and revenge. These shows all have something to teach us about humans and dealing with grief and trauma in our personal lives. The first show we’ll be going over is called: The Vanished Podcast. The Vanished Podcast is an excellent example of the power of podcasting and shows for true crime fans because it looks at several cases that have never been solved. It’s hosted by David Caves, a retired police officer, and his wife, also a retired police officer.

Do you know about the release date of the Susie Searches series:

This series will be released on 9 September 2022. Also, the series has been renewed for a second season, so you are in for more exciting stuff. David and the team of investigators delve into several missing person cases and try to find the answers that families have been looking for. While there are often many possible suspects in any given case, typically many years pass without arrests or resolution. This can be incredibly tragic for families who have lost a loved one, it’s often one of the hardest things to endure and this podcast does a fantastic job at conveying their emotions.

Here is the plot of the Susie Searches series discussed:

The plot of the podcasts can appear to be a bit dry at times, but there is a lot of information to digest and it satisfies the need for true crime fans out there. This podcast focuses on more recent cases and as such, there is more information about them than older cases. Each case generally has two investigations going on, one by David and his team and another by the local police working on their own (since sometimes the results of one investigation will be received before the other). So depending on what area you live in you may be able to see your case being featured on the show even if it has been solved.

What can we expect from the Susie Searches series?

We can expect more and more shows to be coming out in the future as more podcasting channels open up. They will continue to focus on a wide variety of true crime cases, so you can expect these stories to be told from a very human perspective. It’s not easy to get through these shows because the subject matter is often so painful, but we must face these things head-on if we head-create change in our communities and fight against crime. The Vanished podcast has an outstanding reputation for finding new information in old cases, making this a must-listen for any true crime fan and I highly recommend that you give it a go.

Who are the director’s favorite characters and why?

The favorite characters that Rachel Sennott had were: Marilyn Jones, the sister of Christine Echols. This was one of the first cases that she worked on and it’s still ongoing to this day. Mrs. Jones believes that her 17-year-old sister committed suicide, and as a result, believes that her daughter will not face charges. She has also been known to harass the podcast via email, phone calls, social media accounts, and more.

The inspiration for this series is David Caves’ real-life personal experience.
