In its day, Teen Wolf was massively popular and one of MTV’s few prosperous scripted dramas, which led to the series getting its film continuation in “Teen Wolf: The Movie”. The 80s movie, Teen Wolf, was a box-office hit. The new TV series, Teen Wolf, also has a likable cast of young people and managed to recreate the same. The writer for Teen Wolf did a great job of introducing the supernatural world that is Beacon Hills. Now, the former teen actors from The Vampire Diaries are reuniting as adults and, along with creator Jeff Davis, trying to recreate that same spirit. This movie is an attempt to recapture some of the magic of the original show, but it doesn’t live up to expectations.

Why should we watch “Teen Wolf – The Movie”?

It seems like “Teen Wolf” had a lot of success and there was a lot of nostalgia involved when it was on the air. A lot of people, teenagers especially, grew up watching “Teen Wolf” and it was a great way for them to get introduced to all of these actors who are now reprising their roles in this movie. “Teen Wolf – The Movie” is a great way for fans of the TV show to relive the nostalgia from when they were younger, but it also gives them a new show that picks up where they left off.

What is the positive point of the movie?

Posey and Reed still have the chemistry from the original show, making a storyline about them doomed to fail all the more heart-wrenching. As newcomers, Amy Lin Workman as Hikari Zhang and Mattis has acted delicately, the original star of the show Hikari, Arden Cho, declined to return for a second season. The original kitsune was replaced with an entirely new character in the film. This caused some problems with the optics of the movie.

What is the negative point of the movie?

“Teen Wolf: The Movie” doesn’t have as much of an anchor to the original show, the weaknesses of the film are all the more glaring especially when it comes to its mythology. Being an infamous show for lifting stories, Teen Wolf was often a target for parody but the movie takes it to a whole new level by retconning important aspects of the Nogitsune’s lore. It’s needlessly frustrating, the Teen Wolf movie is trying to capitalize on the popularity of a popular villain. But the consequence is anarchy that debases one of the show’s finest stories.

In conclusion,

In “Teen Wolf: The Movie”, the plot was very much dependent on what was happening in the TV series. This wasn’t always a positive thing because it slowed down the movie’s pace. It also made it confusing since there were several times when the characters would reference things from the television show, which means that people who haven’t watched the Teen Wolf TV series would have to pause and go onto Wikipedia or something like that just to find out what they were talking about.
