In The Boys, the Homelander was always a bit of an enigma. He was one of the most powerful superheroes, but he also had a dark side that was often hinted at but never fully explored. In the new season, Black Noir, we are finally going to see what makes the Homelander tick. This could be very interesting for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the way in which it will change our perception of the character.
The Homelander has always been presented as a God-like figure. He is supposed to be uppermost in the public’s mind and revered by his fellow superheroes. He is larger than life, a true hero. But like many things with The Boys, there’s more to it than that. With Black Noir, we are going to get to see a much deeper side and it will alter our perception of him.
Do you know about the release date of The Boys Series:
This series will be released on 3 June 2022. Also, the series has been renewed for season 2 and will be released in October. We are going to get into some potential spoilers here, so if you want to stay completely fresh then best avoid the next few paragraphs.
If you do continue reading, then please comment your thoughts on how the show is shaping up and how you think it will change your perception of Billy Butcher. The Homelander has always been a bit of a mystery.
Here is the plot of The Boys Series discussed:
The boys follow a trail of clues left by the Homelander, from the discovery of his body in a dumpster to an open casket funeral with no one in attendance. It’s heartbreaking to see the old man so broken, so lost.
Watching him try and use his fists, his superpowers is painful. He’s afraid of himself now, weak, frail and hurt. And what are we going to do with him? We have no idea what he did as he was alive but as it happened after he died I don’t believe it will be overly moral either way because he clearly didn’t act towards himself like that in this life.

What inspired you to write The Boys Series?
The series is inspired by the comic book series written by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The comic book series was published by Dynamite Entertainment between 2006 and 2012. I found the summary of the story very interesting. It looks like a good mixture of comedy, action, sci-fi/drama.
The basic premise is that there is a group called The Boys which are a covert group of CIA agents that monitor superheroes and make sure they don’t abuse their powers or break any laws (I guess). Billy Butcher is one of the top members of this group, although he has to cope with his own demons which he’s been battling since childhood.
What other projects are you working on outside of your comfort zone?
I have started a science fiction trilogy that I’m far from finished as of yet but hope to have it completed in the next few years. The first book is titled “The Fall of Eden” and the second, if I can finish it, will be titled “The Children of Eden”. These books are a bit more ambitious than my usual fare but I hope to tackle them with all my experience so far.
Do you have any plans to write a sequel to the series or another book set in the same world?
I do have plans for a sequel and even a third book in the series. I have written the first draft of the sequel and I’m planning to rewrite it from scratch after this series. I have all sorts of crazy ideas for where the story could go, so if people like it who knows what we’ll get.
Are there any characters in the series that are based on people you know in real life?
There might be a few characters but I haven’t really thought about it. I don’t think there’s anyone in particular though. I usually get an idea and then develop it from there. Sometimes an idea will come to me and I’ll work it out from start to finish or sometimes a character or scene will come to me and I’ll write the story around it. The best ideas are the ones that come suddenly with no warning or build up, just boom!

How long did it take you to write each of the books in the series?
I wrote the first draft of the first book in around 6 months from start to finish. I would spend an hour or two after work every day and then maybe a couple of hours on the weekends. I work full time so that makes it easier for me to find time in my schedule.
