The Thor Love & Thunder series has been a massive success as it has allowed Marvel to introduce the world to Hercules, a superhero who was not present in Avengers: Infinity War. As it turns out, Brett Goldstein has offered his thoughts on playing the iconic character.
Goldstein said that he had never played Hercules before, so he applied for the role and auditioned for Thor: Love & Thunder. “I knew it was such an iconic character and that having an actor who could speak with an American accent is pretty important,” said Goldstein of why he decided to take on the role. The actor wanted to make sure that he didn’t use his American accent in the series as he felt it would be too distracting.
The actor has also said that he felt playing Hercules was a “great experience” that brought him closer to the character and allowed him to further understand his loyalty to Thor. He revealed that he loved Thor: The Dark World because of its depiction of the character, which made it easier for him to play Hercules. “I mean, I admire his loyalty,” said Goldstein of what drew him to the project.
