What was the process for writing the books – did the director plan everything out in advance?

The process of writing this book was one of the most difficult things I had ever done in my life. The process of writing was very painful but it was a very powerful experience. When I got to the end of the first draft, I started again. The process took me almost six months.

Do people have any favorite scenes or characters from the series?

This is a story about a man on the run. The story takes place at Andrews Air Force base. There were two parts of my flight that I remembered very vividly. One was finishing the last draft of the book and starting the second draft, and another was the arrival at Andrews Air Force base after almost nine months on the run.

What was your character’s goal throughout this series (in The Terminal List)?

My character had an agenda from beginning to end of this series – he wanted to clear his name of any wrongdoings and eventually get back in command of his squadron. It took him almost nine months to get there but it was worth it for what he did when he finally got there.
