ABOUT BETTER CALL SAUL SEASON 6:

The show made its debut and quickly became a popular television favorite. The series centers around Saul Goodman, the small-time lawyer with big dreams that we met during Breaking Bad’s first season.

This spinoff shows us what life was like for him before Walter White crossed his path. Better Call Saul is a spin-off of the incredibly popular series Breaking Bad. It follows James Morgan “Jimmy” McGill, who will ultimately become Walter White’s lawyer in Breaking Bad and stars Bob Odenkirk as Jimmy/Saul Goodman.

RELEASE DATE:

The release date has not been officially announced for the sixth season of BETTER CALL SAUL. However, it is expected to be on screens in 2022.

PRODUCTION:

Season six was split into two parts, with the first half premiering on August 12th and concluding on September 19th. The second part of season six will return sometime in early 2023. The production team is the same as in previous seasons. The show has been produced by Sony Pictures Television since Season One, and AMC Studios began producing in season three. Vince Gilligan, Mark Johnson, Melissa Bernstein, and Thomas Schnauz all return to produce this upcoming season of Better Call Saul.

FILMING:

Filming for season six began in August 2018 and wrapped up on December 13th,2021. Filming was shot at the same studio as previous seasons: Albuquerque Studios in New Mexico. The production team has not indicated that any notable cast changes will be made during this upcoming season of Better Call Saul. The show has been filmed during both spring, summer, and fall seasons of each year.

CREW MEMBERS:

As in past seasons, Vince Gilligan will direct the first two episodes of season six. Additional directors include Michelle MacLaren, John Shiban, Daniel Sackheim, and Bill Johnson. The writing staff includes Peter Gould, who wrote or co-wrote over forty episodes during Breaking Bad’s run, as well as Thomas Schnauz and Gennifer Hutchison, who also wrote for Breaking Bad.

THE STARRING CAST:

  • Bob Odenkirk will return as James Morgan “Jimmy” McGill/Saul Goodman.
  • Jonathan Banks will also return as Mike Ehrmantraut and
  • Rhea Seehorn is set to reprise her role as Kim Wexler.
  • Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring) is also set to reprise his role as well.
  • It has been confirmed that Breaking Bad character Gus Fring will be making an appearance in the upcoming season (via Entertainment Weekly). This comes after speculation and reports of Esposito appearing since he was spotted on set by multiple sources last fall.

THE PLOT:

Jimmy McGill becomes Saul Goodman in his pursuit of justice following his brother Chuck’s death. In the meantime, Mike Ehrmantraut seeks to find a balance between his obligations as a Cinnabon manager and those of being Gustavo Fring’s right-hand man. Kim Wexler struggles with her guilt over Chuck’s death while trying to keep Mesa Verde out of HHM’s hands.

EXPECTATIONS:

With the news of Gus Fring’s appearance, it is safe to say that Better Call Saul Season Six will have a lot more going on than what was seen in its first five seasons.
