The Air Force One series of movies by Wolfgang Peterson has always been a breakout hit. It tells the story of how Air Force One manages to not only stay airborne but also save the president and his family. Unfortunately, after five movies, Peterson died and discontinued the series. In the first eight seconds, we see the Air Force One plane fly through the air, and we are distracted by flashing lights and sounds. The second scene shows an empty room that has a digital clock that slowly ticks away time.
This series will be released on 11 August 2022. Air Force One comes to a stop on the tarmac with a clear view of the White House in Washington, D.C. The door opens and two Air Force One pilots walk out of the plane. As they are walking they are talking to each other about how they have been flying since they were small boys, how their father had them flying around airports when they were young, and how they loved flying. The two men walk into a break room in Air Force One where a pilot is working on his computer at night. After he finishes with his computer he heads to an area that has a small pool table and some couches on it.
The plot of the Air Force One series centers on a president and his family. In the first movie, the president’s plane is forced to land safely in a Russian airport after the plane is shot at by terrorists. In the second movie, President James Marshall deals with aliens. The third movie has several plot twists President James Marshall has a cloned brother who takes his place while he tries to stop an outbreak of a deadly pandemic which happens to be an alien virus. This plot twist was not planned until after Wolfgang Peterson died and felt that he needed to do it because too many people were trying to find out what would happen to his characters in the future.
The series is inspired by the Air Force One plane that has been featured in all of Peterson’s movies. “When I was growing up, I used to play with a model that had an Air Force One decal on one side and an American flag on the other,” said Peterson. The favorite character of the director was President James Marshall. Before he passed away, he wanted to see his characters die in the Air Force One series. As the story progresses, there is no specific chapter that invokes nostalgia, it’s a mix of all of them put together creating a movie that will make viewers feel nostalgic for life before they die.
The ratings of the Air Force One series are mostly positive. It holds a 7.8/10 on IMDb with many viewers telling how nostalgic they felt while watching the movie, and how strangely attracted they were to it.
