The first thing to realize is that this is a graphic novel and not a traditional novel. It was written in a different format, with the intention of being read in a different way than what people may be used to. It’s not about careful planning and laying out a complete story; it’s about using an interesting idea and creating an interesting story around it.

What inspired you to write All of Us Are Dead?

The series is inspired by the idea of a post-apocalyptic world where a massive radiation event has caused almost all the human race to become zombies. I saw this as an interesting story, and while there are other stories dealing with the subject matter, they never really seem to be handled in the right way. I really wanted to write a story that had its own unique feel and allowed me to play around with some interesting themes.

What is your favourite part of All of Us Are Dead?

My favourite parts of the story are probably when it follows certain themes and storylines that I want to explore further. For example, one of those themes is religion and how it affects society as a whole. I read many books on this topic, and it was interesting to see how it would be handled in a more modern setting and what sort of tensions and ideas would be explored.

How did you come up with the idea for the plot?

While I was trying to write a story that could be described as science fiction, there are many stories of the world is completely destroyed and having to start all over again. In these stories, the main characters have a lot of new problems to deal with and have a harder time making it through.

For example, people often have one direction they feel like they should follow; sometimes this is religion, being in a specific faction in society, or perhaps politics. For me, it seemed interesting that the main character would be leaving his old life behind and trying to create a new one by himself.

Did you have any challenges writing All of Us Are Dead?

Actually, I don’t think there was any challenge in writing this book other than trying to make it interesting. The story is always changing and tells the reader things that they didn’t know were going to happen. I had no idea what was going to happen in the ending, but I certainly didn’t plan it out or know where it was all going to go.

What do you think the future holds for All of Us Are Dead?

I’m always interested in how society might one day respond to such a major event in history and how different aspects of our world would be affected. Right now, we are dealing with many issues like climate change, and political tensions between countries, and I’m interested to see where these things will take us.
