Archer is a show that follows Sterling Archer (H. Jon Benjamin), the world’s former greatest spy, as he navigates the spy world, his personal life, and his domineering boss/mother Malory Archer (Jessica Walter). Season 12 will pick up after archer emerged from his three-season coma and returned to the workplace where Cyril Figgis is now one of the top dogs among the agency’s spies.
The storyline of “Archer Season 12”
Season 12 will follow Archer’s return to the spy world, which is now ruled by Cyril Figgis. One of the archers’ first tasks in season 12 will be keeping his new partner Pam from bungling their first mission together as archers try to navigate through life without Lana and no longer being a field agent.
The show also follows archer’s personal life with his alcoholic mother Malory Archer (Jessica Walter); however, this storyline has not been prevalent for most of season 11 or season 12 so far. Season 11 showed what happened after the archer emerged from his coma: Sterling had lost all three limbs due to an accident and gains them back; he used these cybernetic arms during missions but they were eventually taken away when he was fired from ISIS.
In season 12, archer’s personal life with Pam is explored more which includes her being pregnant and their relationship after Archer proposed to Lana in the finale of Season 11 but then changed his mind for various reasons. Now archer has a new partner named Cyril Figgis who becomes one of the top dogs at ISIS while the archer himself does not have any fieldwork or missions so far this season (thus leading many people to speculate that archers might be aging).

Archer Season 12 will premiere in August. 25 on FXX and the following day on Hulu. The season was originally set to air in May 2020 but was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
