About Arrow:

Seasons one through six forms one complete story arc while seasons seven and eight another. The Starring Cast:

Stephen Amell will once again be playing Oliver Queen / Green Arrow, with David Ramsey returning as John Diggle.

The rest of the regular cast members are expected to return for this season.

Katie Cassidy, who plays Black Siren, has been promoted to series regular status after making only periodic guest appearances throughout seasons six and seven of Arrow.

The Plot:

The plot of Arrow season nine is expected to see the aftermath of Oliver Queen’s declaration that he will run for mayor and incorporate a new element into production. The show, cast entirely by Canadians in its first six seasons, has seen an influx in American talent since the departure of Katie Cassidy, who played Dinah “Laurel” Lance.

It is revealed in season nine that the Green Arrow’s real name is Oliver Queen, who returns to Star City after being stuck on an island for five years. The plot of season nine will see a new element incorporated into production following his promise to run for mayor and save his city from crime and corruption. Season eight was released in October 2017 and saw a plot that focused on the Green Arrow’s decision to run for mayor. The show has seen an influx in American talent since Katie Cassidy, who played Dinah “Laurel” Lance, decided not to renew her contract ahead of season eight.

Arrow received mostly positive reviews from critics, with many highlighting Amell’s performances as a highlight throughout all eight seasons. The premiere episode received praise from critics, who cited it as a return to form for the series and commented that its plot was an improvement on previous seasons.

Arrow has a score of 68% on Rotten Tomatoes and an average rating of about four stars out of five from Netflix users, which indicates positive reviews. It also holds IMDb’s plot summary at “After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island.”

The plot summary on IMDb is exactly the same as season eight, which could be a sign that they’re running out of ideas for this show. This year’s Arrowverse crossover will also see Batwoman join in with heroes such as The Flash and Supergirl to take down evil forces, but it is unknown what role she’ll play in the plot of Arrow season nine.
