Barbie is a romantic comedy film directed by Greta & it is written by Gerwig and Noah. The film tells the story of a woman named Barbie (Swinton) who has never met a man before. This woman is not just living her life as a single person but is also struggling with an eating disorder. The main character was based on Gerwig’s true-life experience of struggling with an eating disorder and the sense that everyone has their version of living in isolation. Reviews were generally lukewarm to mixed but there was one moment that many critics focused on and that was Mattel releasing “Barbie: I can be anything” dolls based on each actress playing different roles in the movie.
