Following the success of season 5, there is a lot of excitement for BLACK MIRROR SEASON 6. It was rumored that the Filming began in April 2018, with a release date set for December 2021. The series has been critically acclaimed and has won numerous awards, including two Emmy Awards and three BAFTAs. We take a look at what we can expect from this upcoming season.
ABOUT BLACK MIRROR SEASON 6:
Black Mirror is a British science-fiction anthology series created by Charlie Brooker, who also acts as the program’s primary writer and director. The show examines modern society, particularly with regard to the unanticipated consequences of new technologies. This time, the series returns with 12 episodes that explore a twisted and high-tech near-future world in which humanity’s greatest innovations and darkest instincts collide.
The first two seasons aired on Channel Four before Netflix commissioned an additional three episodes for season four onwards; these episodes were made available on Netflix globally, with season Four airing the series in a later time slot.
FILMING:
The series will be filming in locations including London, Iceland, and the United States. In the new season, we will be seeing a virtual reality world that is set in a fictional universe created by two teenage girls. We have seen this black and white filter is used before, which makes for an interesting series to watch.

Season Six Plot:
The plots of each episode are generally unrelated to any others and share only thematic similarities. Some of the anticipated stories to come are: “Arkangel,” an episode about a mother who has to use a device to protect her young daughter from the outside world, “Hang the DJ,” about two people looking for love in a seemingly perfect society of permanently paired couples who are monitored by “The System;” and “USS Callister” featuring an all-star cast including Jesse Plemons.
The show’s sixth season will have only four episodes; two are yet to be revealed, and the other two are “Bandersnatch” and “USS Callister.” Expect more of the same dark and twisted tales. The plots are varied, from a post-apocalyptic world to an artificial intelligence predicting your future with no end in sight.
We take a look at what we can expect from this upcoming season. Season Six will consist of six standalone episodes from three different stories in the Black Mirror universe. These are titled “Striking Vipers,” “Smithereens,” and “Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too.”

RATINGS:
On Metacritic, the series has a weighted average of 75/100 based on 11 critics and an average score of 78% with “generally favorable reviews.” The Guardian noted that Black Mirror is not as good as it once was. It said that some parts are too drawn out, and they don’t have much to say about the era of social media.
REVIEWS:
The series has been praised for its distinctive, high-quality production values and dark humor. In 2012, Brooker won a Royal Television Society award for the second episode of season two he wrote. Episodes are typically self-contained narratives that contain plot twists that extend their narrative beyond one episode.
EXPECTATIONS:
The Hollywood Reporter noted that Black Mirror has always been great at exploring how technology impacts our society and culture. It also said, “it’s not hard to imagine the show finding new ways of subverting viewers’ expectations.” With the popularity of this series, it is sure to be a great success with its new episodes in December 2019. The season will run for one hour, which adds more suspense when watching them back-to-back. This is not your typical holiday season show to watch with your family!
