“It’s been 30 years since the final events of the original Blade Runner. LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling) investigates the murder of a former blade runner who has been missing for far longer than any of her kind should have survived.
The film explores K’s discovery that one of the most prized possessions among all replicants, a female is known as “Sapper,” is, in fact, his birth mother. Pursued by former LAPD officer Holden (Harrison Ford), now leader of an elite private security organization known as The Blade Runner Task Force, K races to find Sapper before her people destroy her.

What are your thoughts on the new Blade Runner movie?
The thoughts on the new movie are that it’s a fantastic and breathtaking piece of cinema, but please note this is yet just but an opinion.
It is a magnificent cast. Every actor in Blade Runner 2049 is entirely different and unique. This makes the experience even more immersive and sets it apart from other films. Ryan Gosling excels at this role as he is a veteran at portraying characters who can’t quite make up their mind about the morality of their actions.
Were you surprised by any of the twists and turns in the story?
Yes and no. I will not spoil anything, so I’m not going to delve into the story too much, but let’s say it was a bit of a roller coaster ride
I did, to an extent; however, I didn’t particularly connect with any individual character throughout the film. This is a little bit unusual for me because I usually can relate and connect to the characters in films, although this didn’t happen this time. This is my review, and everyone has their own opinions, though, so if you felt differently, that’s fine!
Which scene or scenes were your favorite / least favorite?
My favorite part of the entire movie was the ending. I enjoyed it a lot because it was a twist I didn’t expect. My least favorite was probably the beginning, as it began a little razzle-dazzle but wasn’t completely necessary to set up the rest of the film.
What was your overall biggest takeaway from the film?
The biggest takeaway for me was the ending. It set up a sequel, and I can’t say I’m not looking forward to it, but others may or may not be. The ending made me incredibly curious about what will happen in the next film, so that’s the main takeaway for me.
Which character do you think is the most interesting, least interesting?
I thought Ana de Armas did an excellent job portraying Gosling’s consciousness. She portrayed without fail the calculated, overly-emotional replicant who is responding to her perceived fate. She was the most interesting one of all characters in the film for me.

Do you have any theories about what might happen in the sequel?
I’m not sure exactly what will happen in the sequel, but I have a basic idea of how I want it to go. This is not confirmed by any means; just a hunch. My favorite shot was when Gosling was sitting on his chair, and Joi cut out on him at that point, thus leaving him stranded in his apartment with nothing but an old photo of his long-dead family. That was beautifully shot and brought me to tears because it hit so close to home for me.
