The Blood & Water series is finally here, and the teaser for season 2 is dark. Literally. The trailer for the new season appeared on YouTube with a mysterious woman begging our protagonist, Emmett Folgert (played by Tyler James Williams), to save her life. What ensues is not only one of the series’ darkest moments but also opens up some questions as to what’s happening in this very cryptic teaser. The trailer opens with Emmett sitting in a room somewhere that seems familiar yet foreign at the same time, then leads to him being chased and forced to ask for help from someone he barely knows who proves to be more than just an ally by saving his life. The teaser ends as it began, with someone begging Emmett to save another’s life, and then we’re left with the title card of “Blood & Water.” The series is based on a short film of the same name, which you can watch here. The short was written and directed by Marlon James (who wrote Black Leopard, Red Wolf, and A Brief History of Seven Killings) and produced by Matthew Parkhill.
