Alongside Brie Larson as Captain Marvel will be Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Jude Law, and Gemma Chan. They are joined by Annette Bening for her first movie role in four years.
THE PLOT:
Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) lives a life full of adventure, both as an Air Force pilot and later with NASA, but it all goes awry when she becomes embroiled in the cosmic war between two extraterrestrial races. Set in 1995, this story will see Captain Marvel bring together her new force to stand up against the Skrulls.
The movie follows Carol Danvers, an airforce pilot who gains superpowers after her DNA is fused with that of alien Kree warrior Mar-Vell, which causes a rift between herself and her mentor by leading to secrets within S.H.I.E.L.D and the Kree empire being revealed as well as her own past (Captain Marvel was set in 1995).
FILMING:
The film is set to take place just a few years before the events of AVENGERS INFINITY WAR, and it’s about Carol Danvers as she becomes Captain Marvel after her DNA was fused with an alien, Kree geneticist Mar-Vell.
The movie will be set in the 1990s, with flashbacks to 1995, and it is based on an original screenplay from Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve, written as a spec script for Disney’s consideration before Marvel Studios acquired its rights. Development of this project began back in 2013 when Feige announced that a female superhero was in the works.
PRODUCTION:
This is the first time a female superhero will get her own movie from Marvel Studios! CAPTAIN MARVEL is set to release in March 2022, and it’s being directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. Kevin Feige, President of Production for Marvel Studios, has said that CAPTAIN MARVEL will be the most powerful hero in Marvel Cinematic Universe. The producers of the film are Kevin Feige, Victoria Alonso, and Jonathan Schwartz.

The film has a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average score of four out of five stars from the critics who reviewed it. It’s also the ninth female-led superhero movie from a Hollywood studio! The CAPTAIN MARVEL has an estimated budget of $100 million without any marketing costs factored into it!
RATINGS:
The film had a domestic opening weekend of $153.22 million, with its international total at $302.73 million for the same period. CAPTAIN MARVEL has grossed over $455 million in one week – beating all expectations.
