He decided to leave Robert and the Manhattan Project in 1943 by resigning his position because he believed that the bomb was not needed. He regretted this decision later in life, stating “I have blood on my hands.”

In January 2021, Warner Bros. Picture announced a plan to plan a movie in Simultaneous release on theather but due to COVID-19, this is not going like planned. In September 2021, a rumor spread that Nolan started writing a Biopic which is set in World War 2. Then later it’s revealed that he wrote a biopic on J . Robert Oppenheimer who is responsible for creating the atomic Bomb. In mid-2022, he ends up finishing his last draft. In February 2023, the script is handed over to Thomas Boyer who did extensive research on Oppenheimer’s life. Thomas Boyer writes a 352-page draft which is given to Robert Zemeckis who says that this is too long and it needs “some serious work.” By March 2023, he finishes his rewrites, and then it gets sent off to Warner Bros. for them to review.
