Cox reveals the major change in “Daredevil: Born Again”

It’s about to get a whole lot darker in New York. Disney + has announced that the upcoming “Daredevil: Born Again”,  will be eighteen episodes long, rather than thirteen as was originally planned. Cox says that this extra time is being allocated for the series to dive much deeper into Matt Murdock’s courtroom drama than before. “We’re going to go all 18 episodes, and we’ll be dealing with a lot of the courtroom stuff, which I think is much better for this character,” Cox said in the interview. “The way that I look at it, there’s no reason to do less than this.”

Who is Daredevil in comics?

Daredevil is a comic book character created by writer Stan Lee and artist Bill Everett in 1963. Daredevil, originally called “The Man Without Fear,” was a blind lawyer who had nearly memorized the entire criminal code of New York City. He was also a proficient martial artist and expert in many forms of hand-to-hand combat. Daredevil was an early example of an “Anti-Villain.” He no longer seemed to have any actual name. In comic books, characters often adopt a name only when they become famous or are associated with a specific organization. So Daredevil became known as such after being hired by the Kingpin of the criminal organization called Maggie. However, this never happened in the comics, and the character has gone on to fight for law and justice against crime and injustice for over 50 years.

What is “Daredevil: Born Again” about in comics?

When we first meet Daredevil in the “Daredevil: Born Again” series, Matt Murdock is a legal assistant who has recently been cleared of charges in the death of his girlfriend. He decides to defend Frank Castle (a.k.a. the Punisher) who was charged with murdering a priest and an old man during a shootout at a bar. Murdock lost faith in the legal system when a cop testified falsely against him and he believes that Frank Castle is also wrongly accused. He also falls for Frank’s pretty girlfriend, Karen Page.

The issue of Frank Castle shooting the priest and old man is never really resolved in the comics, however. This is explored by Frank in “Born Again,” hinting that he was not behind these murders as he claims, but actually, he was trying to save a woman from being killed by the thugs who did the actual shootings. The woman is revealed to be one of his victims and she even makes a guest appearance in the new series.

Star cast of the movie

  • Charlie Cox
  • Vincent D’Onofrio
  • Wilson Fisk
  • Margarita Levieva
  • Sandrine Holt
  • Michael Gandolfini

Background of the series

Cox believes that “We’re going to show a darker side of him. I don’t think you can go from a 13-hour series to a 13-hour series and try to tell the same story. We’re going to show more about him, more of his internal struggle, the issues that he has with the law, and what happens when you have faith in something as opposed to when you let it go. We’re going to push the envelope on that side of things,” said Cox in an interview.

When this “Daredevil: Born Again” will release?

“Daredevil: Born Again” is set to debut on Disney+ sometime in spring 2024. We don’t know much more about the plot yet, but Cox is promising it will be a dark and violent journey for Murdock, who will have to confront past demons and find himself. “

In the Conclusion,

“Daredevil: Born Again” is about to begin, so we still have time to watch and enjoy the series. If you are a comic book fan, then you must have already watched and enjoyed the streaming series. The future of Daredevil as a part of Marvel’s Disney + universe is still shrouded in mystery. Is this deal for the long term or a short period? We can only wait and see what happens next in this “Daredevil: Born Again” series.
