How will the show differ from the first season now that it’s in a new format?

The most significant change with Dear Season 2 is the length of the episodes. The episodes will be longer than Dear Season 1’s 5-minute length. Also, Dear Season 2 will be released on Netflix, so it will have a larger audience than before. But the showrunners want people to know that it won’t be too different from season 1.

Any update on the cast and crew members of Dear Season 2?

Natalie Mendoza, Ashley Esqueda, Khaira Kalima, and Adrienne Vergara are returning as writers for Dear Season 2. Scott Currie and Ate de Leon will continue to serve as directors. In addition, Netflix has confirmed that Mark Malugani and Seamus Ricotta will join the cast. Attending the TCA Panel for Dear season two, co-creator Natalie Mendoza gave some hints about what fans can expect from season 2: “We’re excited to get back into writing it,” she said.

Will there be a change in tone or focus with the new season?

Like many shows on TV today, Dear’s first season was reshaping the concept of “pilot” episodes, but with only a few exposition scenes. This left the audience wanting more about the characters’ backstories. However, Dear has been made into a 10 episode mini-series this time around, rather than being in five-minute segments. This could mean that they will have time to develop the characters further, flesh them out more, and add some extra drama to each character’s personality.

Dear’s creators and writers stirred up a lot of feelings in viewers during season one, and they’re expected to do so in the future as well. The episodes come out once a week, but those who can’t wait for more Dear might be able to see it at the South by Southwest Film Festival next spring! Besides that, you’ll have to keep checking back at Netflix for new episodes.
