Dune Part 2 casts the Leader of Marvel Comic Universe actor Tim Blake Nelson in a mystery role after filming wrapped on Denis’s sci-fi epic sequel. Dennis Villeneuve has added T. Blake Nelson to the stacked cast of newcomers for Dune Part 2. The project is once again a David Lynch and Frank Herbert collaboration that begins shooting in Budapest, Hungary this summer. Villeneuve will direct Duncan’s (Alexandra Dowling) son Paul (Oona Laurence) as the Prince and ruler of Arrakis, while also reprising his role as the Mentat Baron Harkonnen. While the most cast is newcomers to the film, Dennis also secured the role of Kyle MacLachlan as the Harkonnen Baron Vladimir Ralson, with Helena Bonham Carter joining Dominic West as Lady Jessica and Parker Posey returning to Dune for Dune spin-off Giedi Prime.

When is Dune 2 releasing? 

This film will be released on 23 November 2023. Dune Part Two reportedly finished shooting in mid-December and will also complete the story told in 1st book of Dune film, as Dune Part 1 covered half of the book. In a late to the loaded list of newcomers, The Reporter has brought word that director D. Villeneuve has added Tim Nelson to the cast of Dune Part 2. 

What is the plot of Dune 2?

The upcoming sequel, which is set to debut in November, will serve as a direct continuation of the first film and will be based on the second half of the original 1965 novel by Frank. With the movie under a year, fans still have plenty of time to build anticipation. This time, the plot focuses mainly on the storyline of Paul Atreides and his struggles with his reign of Arrakis. Villeneuve is also set to direct and star in the sequel, which is set to begin production this summer.

For Villeneuve, Dune 2 is also dedicated to Lady Jessica’s character which he essayed for the first time in Dune. He will now be reprising his role as Kyle MacLachlan, who he considers to have played and portrayed one of his best roles so far.

The reviewers have also given the Dune movie a similar response as Dune 1 before its release.
