Netflix has been busy at work on the “Extraction” sequel. This project will be its biggest movie premiere ever, and they’re not slowing down! Joe Russo confirmed that he is returning to write extraction 2, though it’s still in the formative stages of what the story can be.
Before extraction was released, director Sam Hargrave told sources that various follow-ups were being considered- “There have been discussions of different storylines that could take place in different times both forward in time and backward in time,” he explained.”

Extraction- starring Chris Hemsworth- was released on April 13th, 2020. The film tells the story of a team extraction gone wrong with an extraction specialist (Hemsworth) who is brought in to rescue his estranged wife and daughter that were kidnapped by a drug cartel while living abroad.

Plot Summary of “Extraction 2”
The movie ends on an ambiguous note that leaves viewers unclear about whether or not Tyler Rake survived. He certainly seems fatally wounded during the final battle and after he’s shot in the neck, we see Tyler fall off the bridge and into the river below. It seems as though there is no way back for him. Yet, eight months later, we see someone watching Ovi (Rudhraksh Jaiswal) and the movie ends before we get any confirmation over who it is, but it certainly could be Tyler.
We can speculate that. “Extraction 2” will be about Tyler’s extraction team returning to the country they barely escaped from. They will set for another mission and we are not sure about the new mission.

It’s hard to speculate about the release date of the sequel, considering the global pandemic situation. Extraction was released on April 24, 2020, so if it does want to stick to a similar date, then April 2022 is likely the earliest we can expect a sequel. This is a wild guess at the moment though and we’ll only know more when production is confirmed.
