Final Space is an American comedy-drama series. The show is produced by TBS and animated by OuiDo! Productions. This season’s cast includes Fred Armisen, John DiMaggio, Jenny Slate, David Tennant, Al Yankovic. Plot details are being kept secret for now, but we know it will be a 10 episode long season with 5 episodes airing in 2021 and the rest coming in 2022. Filming began on July 9th of 2018 and wrapped up on November 19th of 2018, at which point the crew was already working on Season 4 production!
About Final Space:
It is a story of an astronaut, Gary Goodspeed, and his adventures throughout the time after being trapped in a parallel dimension. Throughout this show’s seasons, we have been introduced to some interesting characters such as Olan Rogers’ character Avocato who was essentially killed off but will be returning for Season Two!
Release date:
The release date for the 3rd season of Final Space has not been announced yet, but it is expected to be on screens in 2022.
Filming:
Season three is already in production, and filming began in July 2018. It will be released in 2020 with a total of ten episodes, five this year and the other half next year.
Production:
The production of this season is expected to be about six months long which means that filming should start around January 2019 and end in mid-June next year. Writer Olan Rogers recently revealed on Twitter that he was almost finished writing episode one or part one of Final Space season three.
Revenue:
There are no official numbers for the revenue of season two, but it is expected to earn much more than its first installment. TBS has not yet announced the revenue of Final Space season two on their official website; however, it is estimated to be around $100 million.
Renewal Status:
However, it is expected to be renewed in early 2019 because of its huge success and high revenue compared to the other shows airing on TBS at the moment. In addition, Hulu will most likely consider this production an investment that could bring them back big profits in the future.
The Starring Cast:
- The cast includes Fred Armisen as the voice of KVN,
- Tom Kenny as Avocato, and Little Cato.
- David Tennant plays Space Gary while Coty Galloway plays Quinn who is the main protagonist in this story following Gary’s adventures.
The Plot:
The show starts with Gary, an average guy who works as a janitor of the space station where he was born. However, his life is turned upside down when one day he finds out that someone on this planet has been building five evil robots to destroy the universe. He then decides to team up with Avocato and Space Baby (another one of the evil robots) to save the universe from this threat.
In addition, he encounters a lot of friends and foes on his way including an anti-social prisoner who teams up with him in order to escape a prison called Olan. In total there are ten episodes for season one while four more have been added for Final Space Season Two, bringing the total to fourteen episodes.
Ratings:
On IMDb, Final Space has an average rating of about six out of ten stars from over 2000 users, which isn’t bad but it’s not great either. On Rotten Tomatoes it has a rating of 85% from the critics and 77% from viewers which is pretty good!
Expectations:
We expect Final Space to be renewed for another season like two but we don’t think it will go beyond four seasons. It’s a great show, has good ratings and reviews, so why not? However, if they do end after five seasons, then at least we got those last few episodes that wrapped up the series as well as possible!
With all that information above, the audience thinks that season three will bring us some interesting plot twists and more character development for everyone involved in this series, including Gary, Mooncake, Quinn, Avocato, and the rest of the crew.

Final Space Season Two brought us some interesting plot twists, new characters, and even a few surprises along the way. It was well-written, creatively animated, with all of its comedic elements added to make it stand out from other shows in this genre. This season three has big shoes to fill but let’s hope that they can deliver another great season with tons of action, comedy, and drama.
