Ghosted’, Starring Chris Evans & Ana De Armas: Confirmed Release Date and Cast Details

It’s been a while since we’ve seen an actor and actress work together so well and with such chemistry. Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn were prominent figures in early Hollywood, while romantic comedy fans later enjoyed the works of Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks in the 1990s.

Yet our prayers for the next great couple have been heard with the arrival of Ghosted, a brand-new movie for Apple TV+. After appearing in Netflix’s action-packed thriller The Gray Man and the famous mystery whodunit Knives Out, Chris Evans and Ana de Armas’ third project together will be a romantic comedy.

Is there a release date for Ghosted?

On April 21, 2023, Ghosted will be available on Apple TV+. The movie’s theatrical debut has yet to be discovered. However, it seems likely given that previous recent star-powered Apple movies like Spirited and The Greatest Beer Run Ever were released in theaters a week before they were made available on Apple TV+.

Why Is It Called “Ghosted”?

According to early reviews, Ghosted is similar to the 1980s classic Romancing the Stone, which also centers on a solitary romance author to save her sister who has been abducted, Joan Wilder, played by Kathleen Turner, ventures out of the security of her New York City apartment and into the dangerous jungles of Colombia. She is determined to steal a rare treasure and, in the process, develops feelings for the dashing adventurer Jack T. Colton (Michael Douglas).

Who is the Ghosted movie’s director?

Dexter Fletcher is Ghosted’s director. Fletcher’s career started as acting. At the beginning of his career, he appeared in several British independent films, including Caravaggio, The Rachel Papers, Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. Moreover, he played Staff Sergeant John Martin in the acclaimed HBO miniseries Band of Brothers, co-created by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. With Wild Bill, Fletcher made his feature film debut as a director. It is a crime comedy-drama about Bill Hayward, a parolee from jail who returns home to discover his sons abandoned by their mother, and they live alone.

Brief about Ghosted star caST Chris Evans and Ana De Armas

In Ghosted, Ana De Armas will play Sadie, an enigmatic young woman for whom Cole, played by Evans, develops feelings. Sadie is not your typical rom-com love interest; in reality, she is a CIA covert agent now engaged in one of her most dangerous missions to date.

De Armas began her career in Cuba before relocating to Spain, where she rose to fame as the lead in the well-liked teen soap opera El Internado. In 2016, she won praise for her performance in the hands of Stone, portraying the wife of well-known Panamanian fighter Roberto Duran. In the 2017 film Blade Runner 2049, De Armas landed her first significant role as Joi, the protagonist’s holographic AI girlfriend. Her most prominent part, Marta in Knives Out, for which she received her first Golden Globe nod, was made possible by this one.

Cole Riggan, a sincere and gentle character who falls hopelessly in love with Sadie, will be portrayed by Chris Evans in the movie. Cole flies to Europe after she abruptly stops replying to his texts, unaware that the woman of his fantasies is a super spy.

In early 2000s films like Not Another Teen Movie, Evans debuted as a teen heartthrob. He swiftly switched to more mature material and starred in various action and superhero movies, including Fantastic Four and Sunshine, romantic comedies, What’s Your Number, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Evans’ most recognizable performance in Captain America: The First Avenger was awarded in 2011.

He has played the superhero in eleven movies since then. His most well-regarded performances came in the Rian Johnson mystery Knives Out and the Bong Joon-Ho thriller Snowpiercer, which tells the story of a lower-class insurrection on a train carrying the last of humanity after climate change has devastated the planet. Evans appears to be in for a big year in 2023; in addition to Ghosted, he will also appear in the crime drama Pain Hustlers with Emily Blunt and the high-profile holiday action comedy Red One with Dwayne Johnson.
