Goliath was created by David E. Kelley and Jonathan Shapiro, who have both worked on many movies throughout their career. Season one of Goliath first aired in 2016 with Billy Bob Thornton as the lead actor.

The Plot:
This show follows David Rosen (Billy Bob Thornton) who started his career as a lawyer after he lost everything else in his life thanks to alcoholism. His addiction led him down a path of destruction, which resulted in him losing his family and respect from his peers. He eventually starts a new law firm with the help of Patty (Molly Parker), and they become huge competitors to Goliath, where Billy works.
David’s personal life is falling apart: his wife leaves him after he has an affair, one son commits suicide because David did not support him enough emotionally while the younger brother is on the run from the law. He is also approached by an old friend who asks him for help in order to get her son out of jail, which leads David down another path where he works with his ex-wife (Maria Bello) and tries to find justice again.

Expectations:
The expectation for Goliath season five is that it will be just as good, if not better than the previous seasons. There are no plot points released about what direction the plot might take in this new addition to the series. Fans of Goliath can only hope for more great things from Billy Bob Thorton. Amazon Studios has not yet decided whether or when Goliath season five will be released. It is expected to premiere in 2022 at the earliest, and that’s only if Amazon renews it for a fifth season.
