Homecoming season three filming is taking place in Atlanta, Georgia at a number of locations, including the former Fulton County Hospital Center, which was used as the location for Egyptian Hills Psychiatric Facility- Homecoming Transitional Support Center from season one to the present day. The hospital center was closed in 2010 after the discovery of asbestos.

The Series plot follows Heidi Bergman-Berg, played by Julia Roberts, who is working as a waitress at an unnamed diner after leaving her life as part of Walter’s “transitioning program.” She is haunted by memories of her boyfriend, Gabe (J.R. Ramirez), who was killed in Afghanistan shortly before she left Homecoming and seeks him out at his new home under a different name.

In a review from The Hollywood Reporter, Homecoming was described as “elegantly written and impeccably cast” being one of Amazon’s best new shows. In another article on Rotten Tomatoes, it is said that this series has some plot holes but overall the show itself deserves praise.

The second season of Homecoming was viewed by an estimated 22 million viewers worldwide in the first four weeks after its release. These numbers made it Amazon’s most-watched premiere for a scripted series ever, and one of the best new shows that premiered on any streaming service last year.
