Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a new Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. Originally titled Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, it was serialized in Shueisha’s Jump GIGA magazine from April to July 2017. After Akutami launched Jujutsu Kaisen in 2018, the series was retroactively retitled jujutsu Kaizen 0, making it a prequel, and released in a single tankōbon volume in December 2018. It was licensed for English release in North America by Viz Media. An anime film adaptation by MAPPA has been announced to premiere in Japan in December 2021.
The story takes place after the events of jujutsu KaiZen 1 and follows Touji Murata as he joins jujutsuka Touji Kaneda and friends as they fight against jujutsukai Shiro Yoshida.

However, this is not an easy task for them because the Jujutsukai has a new power their zaikyuu ability gives them instant knowledge on how to counter any move that’s thrown at them with one of their own moves!
Meanwhile, Touji must also deal with his relationship with Reika Kirishima, whom he loves but who is away in New York studying abroad when she was supposed to come back home. All stories intertwine until it all comes together in the end, where everything is solved in jujutsukaisei.

After the Jujutsu Kaisen anime television series finale, an anime film adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was announced. MAPPA is returning to produce the film, and it will be distributed by Toho. The film will premiere on December 24, 2021.
