Loki Season 2: Every Detail Of The New Season of the Disney+ Return

After conquering the big screen with over 20 feature films, The Marvel Cinematic Universe has turned its attention over the small screen with the release of Wanda Vision, The Falcon, and the Winter Soldier, and Loki.

Both WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier arrived as one-off miniseries, telling their stories over a single batch of episodes before being picked up in the main films.

But is that the case for Loki or will the God of Mischief return to Disney+ for season 2?

Here’s to everything about the new updates of Loki Season 2.

Renewal Status

Loki season 2 has not been officially announced by Marvel or Disney but reports from as early as November 2020 suggest that a second season is in development. According to sources, the production of Loki is scheduled to be due in January 2022. No official release information has been revealed for season 2 just yet but if the January 2022 start date for production goes ahead, it would suggest a potential release date in early 2023, factoring in filming and post-production time.

Set-up of Season 2

At the time of writing, the season 1 finale of Loki has yet to air, so what happens in episode 6 could affect our current prediction but based on what we’ve seen so far, this is what we think may happen. After having nexus events and the creation of a multiverse teased as early as episode 1 by Miss Minutes, we believe that Loki’s first season will end with a nexus event so large that it causes a new multiverse to open up. So while Loki season 1 could set all of that up, season 2 could follow it on by continuing Loki and Sylvie’s story in the MCU’s multiverse, causing endless amounts of mischief as they go, potentially across a myriad of timelines.

ONE EPISODE OF SEASON 1 REMAINS [SPOILERS]

Before all of that may or may not happen, there is the small matter of Loki episode 6 to navigate first.

The episode is due to release on Disney+ on July 14th and will be available from midnight Pacific Time in the US – which translates to 3 am ET, 8 am in the UK, 12:30 pm in India, and 5:00 pm in Sydney, Australia.

Details of the finale will remain a mystery until it is released but following the events of episode 5, Loki and Sylvie are left walking towards a towering citadel which will hopefully hold the answers about the TVA that they’ve been searching for.
