NetFlix: We The People Review – Worth Watching Or Not?

We the People is a Netflix documentary series that takes you inside the lives of U.S. citizens who are exercising their constitutional rights to try and change America’s future or stop it from changing altogether. The series begins with a presidential election in 2020, with Donald Trump on track for re-election and Democrats battling each other for the nomination while trying to find an answer to what they call “a crisis of democracy.”  But what does this all have to do with NetFlix? Keep reading as we review Us The People!

Synopsis: we the people

Several things make this documentary worth watching, but there is one thing in particular that makes it actually not worth watching.

A few positives include the way they managed to keep everything so unbiased and do an excellent job interviewing both pro-Trump supporters and those who oppose him. They also did a great job at presenting all sides without making any judgments on what was right or wrong for each case.

The main downside with Netflix’s We The People: One Nation Under Trump is its use of hypothetical situations instead of interviews from real people during the time period covered (i.e., “What would you do if…”). This could lead some viewers to believe these events were happening today rather than filmed five years ago.

Also, the length of Netflix’s We The People: One Nation Under Trump might make it difficult for viewers to sit through a full hour and 45 minutes without taking breaks or turning off the TV altogether.

Pros and Cons of the documentary:

There are many pros and cons with this documentary that may affect some people more than others, so if you’re looking for an unbiased account of what life was like under President Donald Trump, then this is worth watching. If you want something less long-winded (or simply just don’t have time) then there are other options out there where you can get your fix on both sides of the issue without getting bored halfway through.

You can’t really go wrong here even if your viewpoint on Donald Trump’s administration aligns with his beliefs. It’ll provide insight into why those who don’t support him did so during the 2016 election campaign (or still do), as well as educate viewers about issues that many Americans may not be aware of.

Review:

Netflix has just released a new series called We the People. It is about an alternative history of America, and it includes some pretty shocking elements that might not be too far from reality if they were true: such as a President who rules with an iron fist (who is also black). One day he sends out his lackeys to round up all people of color in his country so he can send them off to internment camps. The show stars Omari Hardwick and Sebastian Arcelus.

Conclusion:

The show is worth watching, but the question remains as to if it will stand up against other Netflix Originals. It does, however, make a strong statement about where America might be going shortly. I give this series four stars out of five and would recommend it for people who enjoy historical dramas with an alternative view on our country’s past and possible future.
