Disney+ is set to launch in November and Obi-Wan Kenobi will be one of the series on the streaming service. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy made the announcement at D23 Expo Japan. “We are working very hard on a few other things that we haven’t announced yet,” she said, Obi-Wan Kenobi being one of them.
“We’ve got a great idea for another new animated show, and we’re hoping that we can produce it with the Lucasfilm Animation team. And then as far as TV, we’ve got some other things that we’re working on, which will be exciting.” The show will feature the voice of Ewan McGregor.

This series is created by Lucasfilm and executive producer Dave Filoni. He’s been responsible for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Star Wars Rebels. While it will focus on the character of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the action takes place about 20 years after ROTJ, when Luke is a fully trained Jedi Knight.

Are there any plot holes in the series that need to be addressed?
This series will not be a film or TV series. It’s just like “The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels”. The story of the films and TV series are separate, but they’re still part of a larger world all the same. So anything that happens to Obi-Wan in this series will return to the films as well. So there are no major plot holes that need to be addressed for this particular serialized animated series.
