The Prey series by Michael Marshall Smith is a collection of novels that take place on Earth after it has been colonized by aliens. Aided by their advanced technology, the aliens arrive at the planet’s surface and quickly establish a society where they hunt down and collect live animals for food, as well as other organisms through traps. Known as Predators in these novels, the aliens are characterized by their hunting skills and ability to track prey even in urban areas- something they do with an apparent sense of ease despite having never seen such environments before.
