This series will be released on 21 July 2022. Also, the series has been renewed for a season 2 which has been confirmed. “Rap sh!t” is a lifestyle show that portrays everyday life for an African American family living in Atlanta, Georgia.  The show is about the fictional family (The Mobley’s) and their day-to-day lives, which challenges them to live up to their name, which is the definition of “Mobley”. The show consists of the female cast members interviewing their parents and other family members about their lives and experiences.

The plot of Rap Sh!t will be based on an African American family living in Atlanta. Marcus and his wife, Kyra along with their children, Miles, and Macy live the perfect suburban life. Their life is uneventful and boring until they are forced to deal with the obstacles of growing up later in life. The series is about three generations of black Americans living in a single house; each person within a particular family has multifaceted issues that have to be managed as best as possible.

What inspired the director to write the Rap Sh!t series?

The series is inspired by the director and his life experiences with his own Black family. His mother and father raised him in their household and he always felt like he was not a part of their family. He tried to connect with them as a brother but he always felt as if he was an outsider looking in. He would see them sitting around talking about everything but him; which would prompt him to document their conversations. 

Who are the director’s favorite characters and why?

The favorite character of the director is Marcus Mobley because he can relate to the character in many ways.  Marcus has dealt with the loss of his mother, which caused him to become very protective over his family and himself. His actions may make him seem like a person that is hard to be around but in reality, he is a very loving person who would do anything for his family to ensure their happiness.
