The show premiered on July 21st, 2017 and it was picked up for 22 episodes which means the fifth season will premiere in 2022 or 2023.
On the show, Raven is now a divorced mother of twins who are 12 years old. Though her oldest son Booker T Washington (talked about above) lives with his grandmother. Nia Long’s character Theresa at their house in New York City. Raven has to move back into her childhood home – because she can’t afford it on her own. Raven’s Home continues to follow Raven and Chelsea as they start a new chapter in their lives.
The release date for the 5th season of Raven’s home has not been announced yet, but it is expected to be on screens in 2022.
Raven has been working on the show for a long time, and the production team has worked together to create this great TV series. The show is produced by It’s a Laugh Productions and created/developed by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas. The pair previously worked on Disney Channel shows such as Phil of the Future, That’s So Raven, Hannah Montana, I Didn’t Do it, Best Friends Whenever, and K.C Undercover among others.
The show is filmed in front of a live studio audience. It’s the same style that was used for Disney Channel sitcoms like That’s So Raven, The Suite Life on Deck, and Wizards of Waverly Place to name just a few.
The show has been nominated for several awards and won a couple of them. In 2017, it was nominated for two NAACP Image Awards including Outstanding Children’s Program and Outstanding Youth or Children’s Series – (Comedy). The series also received nominations at the 2018 BET Awards in three different categories – Best New TV Comedy, Viewers’ Choice, and Best Actress in a Comedy.
Both Disney Channel Original Series was produced with a total budget of $65 million for each season. The first season of the spin-off received a $16.53 million production budget which was almost half that of That’s So Raven.
The plot of Raven’s Home is based on the life of former Disney star Raven-Symoné and her daughter, Nia. The plot follows the mother/daughter duo, Raven and Nia as they adjust to their new lives after moving in with each other following a divorce. In this spin-off series, we find out that Raven has become a fashion designer and has moved in with her best friend, Chelsea. The plot follows the lives of this blended family as they adjust to their new life together.
Raven-Symoné reprises her role from That’s So Raven in an all-new sitcom about two divorced single moms who are both raising their children alone but are still best friends. The plot follows Raven-Symoné as she navigates her life after a divorce from her husband Devon.
It has received positive reviews from critics with special praise for its plot and cast. The show was included on a list of the top ten family sitcoms of 2018 compiled by TV Guide Magazine.
It debuted to 0.94 million viewers, which is a bit lower than That’s So Raven’s season two debut. The second episode premiered to 0.88 million viewers, which was lower than the first one but still higher than That’s So Raven season two average viewership of around 0.72 million viewers per week. In every episode of Season Four, there were over two million views online within 24 hours of each other.
The expectations for the 5ht season are high. The audience can hardly wait for the premiere. Disney Channel has ordered a fifth season for 2022 so it is very likely that there will be another one.
