The newest Doctor appears to have walked off the Gucci runway in his sharp suit and eye-catching sweater. Ncuti Gatwa portrays the 15th doctor in the first BBC photos that have been made public. Gatwa, who assumes possession of the Tardis in 2023, wears a vintage-looking brown chequered suit with an orange jumper and tan-colored brogues. These hues pay homage to the show’s 60-year legacy. The Doctor’s outfits have a significant role in the show. The first Doctor, played by William Hartnell in 1963, was distinguished by his frock-style coat. Gatwa will take over as the 15th Doctor of the 2005-revived series from departing Time Lord Jodie Whittaker. The 14th season after the relaunch would reportedly start filming in November 2022, meaning it would probably premiere in 2024.

Who is Ncuti Gatwa?

Ncuti Gatwa is a South African actor who was born on September 9, 1995. Ncuti’s acting career was kickstarted when he appeared in the South African drama film “The Unloved” (2012), opposite BAFTA-winning actress Samantha Morton. Ncuti has appeared in several episodes of the British soap opera “Hollyoaks” as Neil Cooper. These appearances earned Ncuti recognition for being the first South African actor ever cast in a British long-running soap opera.

Who is “Dr. Who?

Since the episode of smoke and mirrors in 1963, Doctor Who has proven to be a television show that transcends time. The Doctor himself (or herself) has been transformed into many different faces throughout the show’s 63-year history. From William Hartnell to Colin Baker, and now Jodie Whittaker, we have witnessed some of the most memorable doctors in television history. The role entails travelling through time and space in an attempt to defeat an enemy who will stop at nothing until all life is extinguished from within our universe. At the Doctor’s side is her loyal companion, who must navigate this chaotic world as best as possible. Whether it be in a police box or the newest 13th Doctor’s DeLorean (yes, a DeLorean), the Doctor travels light-years to save what few people there are that are worth saving.

In the Conclusion

The last 50 years have been quite an interesting ride for the Doctor. He has gone from being an ordinary human to a hero of legends. Whether he is a grandfather or a new face, he will always be the same man with a heart of gold that is ready to take on all of time and space to save people or causes that are worth saving.
